**Government Shutdown Ends
The historic government shutdown ended January 25, 2019 after Congressional leaders and the White House came to a deal to pass a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government through February 15th.
The continuing resolution should provide U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding through March and federal funding stops again in three weeks, HASLC will begin to utilize its own financial reserves to maintain the Section 8 program for HASLC.
We ask our landlord partners to please take no action at this time. We will remain in close communication with you until the shutdown ends.
If you hear problems at other Housing Authorities (there are approximately 3,500 agencies in the U.S.) please understand that each Housing Authority will have unique finances and strategies to deal with this unfortunate stalemate.
If there are any changes to this set of facts, HASLC will contact its customers, its Section 8 landlord partners, the public, and the media with updates.
